Dear Brothers and Sisters,
By time you receive this letter, Diocesan Convention will be about to begin. Please pray that everyone attending and voting on whether or not to reunify with the Diocese of Central Pennsylvania will be filled with God’s wisdom as they discern God’s way forward.
Lots to talk about this week! When you come into the Parish Hall, pause at the GREAT new door that Greg and his minions have installed. Not only does it look much better than the old crumbling one, it will be substantially more energy efficient and much easier for folks using wheelchairs or walkers to manage.
Reminder that if you wish to have anyone commemorated at the All Saints service, we will need their names by October 22. If you’ve mislaid the form, please email the names to me at lauramh@gmail.com or pick up a new form on Sunday. But be sure to give it to me this Sunday.
On St. Margaret’s Day weekend, we are trying an extra special experiment—to celebrate our patron, as a fundraiser, and to invite the community in to experience St. Margaret’s hospitality. Our first ever Celtic music concert will be Friday, November 15, 7:00 p.m. You’ve already received a poster, but we have printed more so you can hand them out to friends and neighbors, or post them. We need your help in inviting people. Please do reach out to everyone around you to make this a successful evening.
Janice Clymer and Maggie Werner have asked me to let you know that we are now keeping gift cards for Weis and Giant in stock at the church. We all need to buy groceries from time to time, so if you use our gift cards Giant gives St. Margaret’s 3.5% of the cost and Weis gives 5%. An easy way to help support your parish. When you need gift cards, just ask Janice or Maggie.
On the other side is a letter from Pat Scagliotti and Kathy Leber about the October 27 Bloom presentation. All are welcome, of course. Please invite others to join us. Alyssa Santana will be with us for coffee hour and then we’ll start the presentation at 10:30. A pamphlet about Bloom’s work is enclosed.
Prayers for all!
Mo. Laura
