Spring Flower Fundraiser

WEEKLY REFLECTION | Third Sunday in Lent, March 12, 2023

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I hope that since it’s Lent, you are finding some quiet time to rest and to ponder where you are in your life, secular and spiritual. But even though it’s a time for a “bit less”, things aren’t stopping at St. Margaret’s. For example, your Vestry wants you to know that shortly after Easter, the long-awaited (and much-needed!) work will begin on the Church sidewalks and front steps. Immediately following the service this Sunday, Greg Cygan and Maggie Werner will introduce us to the work that will be done, to make everything safer, and also more accessible. I hope that you will be able to spend a few minutes to hear about the plans.

And speaking of Sunday….don’t forget to SPRING AHEAD an hour on Saturday night before bed! Daylight Savings Time begins at 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

The Fundraising Committee (or, as I call it, FUNdraising) has also been very busy, planning for upcoming events. In addition to our ongoing RaiseRight fundraiser (gift cards), we will be holding a spring flower sale. Here’s a link to download the form: Spring Flower Order Form. Our chair, Janice, wants you to know that the Lehigh Valley Garden Center does NOT raise the prices if you participate in this coupon program. Plants cost the same. But if you get your flowers through our program, the Center gives the Church part of the proceeds. Share the natural beauty with friends!

The next event on FUNdraising’s radar, is the International Pot Luck Dinner on Saturday, April 29 at 5:00 p.m. Janice has created a signup link so we don’t all make dessert. Again, invite friends to join us!  Head to the signup form to let us know what you’re bringing: St. Margaret’s International Potluck Sign Up Form

Also in the future is the Yard Sale (June 3; bring items for the sale beginning on May 1—more on that soon), the basket social November 3-4, the Hallowe’en parade October 21, and the Christmas wreath sale in early December.

Looking forward to saying farewell to the gray and cold of winter, and to the pleasant months ahead with you!

Next week, news about the schedule for Holy Week and Easter.
