St. Margaret's Episcopal Church - Organ

WEEKLY REFLECTION | Sixth Sunday after Pentecost, July 4, 2021

Dearest Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

I have news of a staff change at St. Margaret’s. Our beloved Director of Music, Julius Sarkozy, is moving on to a new position – full time – at Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church in Bethlehem. It is a tremendous opportunity for Julius, and we rejoice with him. AND, at the same time, we’re so sad to see him go. He has been such a vital part of St. Margaret’s for two years and was an amazing asset to St. Margaret’s.

As many of you know, Julius graduated from Moravian College this spring with a Bachelor of Music Degree (BM) in Piano Performance and Sacred Music. His new position at Notre Dame will be Director of Music. He will also be directing the choirs and children’s ensembles and playing piano and organ for the weekly masses at the school, where he will also teach. Notre Dame is indeed fortunate and blessed to get Julius! He is also employed by Disney as a Music Supervisor. We will miss him sorely, but send him out with our blessings for continued success in his vocations. God’s speed, Julius! We will definitely stay in touch!

Our new Director of Music is David Mascari, who most of you remember when he previously served at St. Margaret’s!  How fortunate we are to have yet another gifted organ scholar! As you may remember, David graduated from Kutztown University with a B.A. in Music with a focus in Piano and a minor in Audio Engineering. After serving at St. Margaret’s, David went to graduate school for two years and earned the Degree of Master of Music (MM) in Conducting at Bard College Conservatory of Music. David, we welcome you with open arms! David’s first Sunday back with us is this coming Sunday – our festive day of reopening for in-person worship!  Welcome, David!

The Vestry, Mo. Laura and I welcome each of you back to church this coming Sunday! Please see our safety guidelines for in-person worship.

See you Sunday. Welcome Happy Morning, age to age shall say!!

My friends, may we continue to be one in the Spirit. And let us continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
