St. Margaret's Weekly Reflection

WEEKLY REFLECTION I June 22, 2025 – Proper 7

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

We get used to coming to our much-loved church week in and week out. Usually, the changes we encounter are in the church’s “color-coding”, as the changing colors reflect the movement of the liturgical year or special services. Music and readings change regularly, of course, as does the cast of characters volunteering to read, chalice, altar guild, or host coffee hour. Comfy-cozy, mostly the same, with even small changes predictable.

Two summers ago, though, we had some BIG changes, with updated landscaping and creating an accessible sidewalk and front door. This year, it’s time again! As I told you a few weeks ago, Iglesia Luz de Esperanza (Light of Hope Church) is now meeting with us on Saturdays. This vibrant Seventh Day Adventist Church is bringing life to the nave and the parish hall on what would otherwise be sleepy Saturdays. They would welcome visitors, of course, and their music is spectacular, as is their AV set up.

This Sunday, you will also notice that the furniture is moving. For some time, we have been talking about removing the extra front pew. Thanks to Greg and John who did that SERIOUSLY heavy lifting on Monday. We now have open space if folks in walkers or wheelchairs wish to sit in the front. There will also be more room for the Angel Tree, All Saints memorial candles, music camp students to perform, and for the portable concert stage. Speaking of which, YES! Poor Man’s Gambit will be coming for St. Margaret’s Day weekend again this fall. More news to come. Come and see!

Buildings and Grounds is on the move—keeping our church home well cared for! Still more to come this summer.

Praying daily with you, for our nation, our parish, and the world,

Mo. Laura
