Dear Brothers and Sisters,
There has been so much going on in the last two weeks (Annual Report, Annual Meeting, Diocesan Parochial Report), not to mention the beginning of Lent, that I’ve sent you only what you needed. So instead of reflections, this catch-up letter contains the various announcements and schedules that people have asked me to share with you.
Here goes!!!
1) Please pray fervently for the situation in the Middle East, asking God to help our leaders find a way to peace, and to protect all those in harm’s way, in all the nations involved.
2) ***This coming Sunday: SPRING AHEAD!!!! Move your clocks forward one hour on Saturday evening. ***
3) This coming Sunday: Groceries Plus Food Pantry donation collection. Needs list attached.
4) Angel Network shampoo and bar soap collection (ongoing).
5) This coming Sunday: following our services Doreen will meet with anyone who is interested in brainstorming ideas for collaborative activities with our Sibling Faith Communities, St Andrew‘s in Lewisburg and the St. Barnabas Center in Kutztown. Our first Zoom planning meeting with them will be held on March 15th at 4:00 pm.
6) St. Barnabas Spring Flower sale will begin this week. All orders are due by March 29 and flowers will be delivered before Mother‘s Day. We will be selling hanging baskets and flats of flowers. Doreen will have information and pictures for folks to look at on this upcoming Sunday and all Sundays in March.
7) March 22: Janice reminds us that gift card orders are due March 22.
8) March 22, Wellness Speaker: during coffee hour, we will have a presentation on Hospice, by people from St. Luke’s Hospice. Both Diana Marshall (nurse) and I (chaplain) have worked in hospice, and some of us have had family members as hospice patients. This is a wonderful community health resource, which provide support in a
challenging time. You are encouraged to find out more.
