VESTRY LEADERSHIP
As you are aware from previous news, Connie Allport needed to relinquish the role of Senior Warden a few weeks ago due to multiple family commitments. Thankfully, as Sr. Warden, Emerita, she has graciously chosen to remain on Vestry as a working member. We cherish her continuing work, leadership, dedication, and “who” she is!
Now, it is my joy and privilege to announce that our new Senior Warden is Kathy Leber and our new Junior Warden is Maggie Werner. Please join me in welcoming them to their new leadership roles!
Let us pray:
Holy Spirit, you delight to equip us with all the gifts of service in our congregations.
Look with favor upon our Senior Warden, Kathy Leber
and our Junior Warden, Maggie Werner
as they work to extend the Realm of God through their leadership at St. Margaret’s.
Empower them with courage, patience, and vision; and strengthen us all in our Christian vocation of witness.
May the Body of Christ grow in strength and health, for the transforming of the world and of service to others; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
REOPENING OF CHURCH TO IN-PERSON WORSHIP
The Vestry, Mother Laura and I continue to be in discernment about the appropriate time for reopening the church to in-person worship. We are, of course, weighing all the best data from the Diocese, the CDC and other scientific authorities. We sincerely hope to reopen sometime in September.
Though I do not have a firm date to share with you yet, I want to keep you “in the loop” of where the thinking is. I hope that I’ll be able to give you a firm date in a few weeks. If you have thoughts on the topic, please contact me, Mother Laura, or any member of the Vestry.
When we do resume services, we will begin with the service of Morning Prayer. There will be strict protocols for distancing and safety. Masks will be required at all times. It will be a very different “feel” to worship; HOWEVER, we will finally be together as a praying, worshiping community! I can hardly wait!
Please remember all the sites for streaming worship in the Diocese and beyond. The sites for streaming worship are listed on the Diocesan Website: Diobeth.org.
And remember we have live Zoom Wednesday Noon-Day Prayers each week with Mo. Laura leading and offering a reflection on the saint being commemorated that day. Please contact me if you’d like to join in – all I need is your email address to add you to the list of folks who receive the Zoom link.
Also, the Monday evening, 7:00 PM Zoom Bible Study offers a lively discussion of the upcoming Sunday readings. There is always room for more – please just contact me!
Continued blessings, patience and peace, Jane+
