DIOCESAN ANNOUNCEMENT / IN-PERSON WORSHIP

Dear Family and Friends of St. Margaret’s,

I write to you today to call your attention to a letter which was posted from Diocesan House. [please see attachment]

As you may know, [1] The Standing Committee and [2] The Diocesan Council work closely with the Bishop in many matters of the church.

One important issue was a recent joint consultation on the feasibility of re-opening the churches of the diocese for in-person worship.

It was an extremely difficult decision and much thought went into the decision – but it was the unanimous decision of both the Standing Committee, Diocesan Council, and Bp. Kevin, not to reopen yet. We realize that folks are eager to return – myself among them, of course! However, we are getting closer, but believe the timing is not yet right.

I serve on the Standing Committee and will tell you that there was much serious deliberation, looking at the data, the metrics, and the advice of the medical community.

Let us continue to “be the church” and faithful in Virtual Worship.

God’s richest blessings to you all as we journey together, in Spirit, this Holy Lent.
