St. Margaret's - Sidewalk Construction

WEEKLY REFLECTION | Fourth Sunday of Easter, April 30, 2023

ALLELUIA! Christ is risen!

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

It’s finally happening!!!! The great, orange, concrete-eating dinosaurs are here, along with the colorful fat-bellied cement-dispensing trucks, carrying anti-cancer slogans. Workers are digging, raking, smoothing, driving, measuring, pounding. It is a VERY busy day here at St. Margaret’s. And a very noisy one!

The weather is lovely, bright and sunny, and not too oppressively hot. And I am grateful for the sake of the folks who have to be out in it hour after hour. The fine weather has allowed the new concrete slab immediately in front of the main church door to be poured, and the short side-walk from the door to Keystone excavated.

Maggie, our buildings and grounds Warden, was here this morning and took a bunch of photos of the work. They’re posted below. It’s exciting! When this work is done, St. Margaret’s will be a more beautiful and MUCH safer place to get around.

But this major, major work is not cheap—very necessary, but expensive. So we would like to invite you to become part of the effort. If you could make a contribution in support of the construction project, we would be very grateful. We have already saved money by taking care of some of the work in-house, with Greg Cygan preparing the drawings and Maggie doing the project management. So if you are able, please consider making an additional donation to finish this long-delayed job in a timely manner. Checks should be made out to St. Margaret’s with Buildings and Grounds in the memo.

We are so grateful for all the help of every sort that we are getting. Rejoicing with you all!
