St. Margaret’s held its first outreach breakfast for the families of Jefferson and Lincon elementary schools this past Saturday, February 29th. We plan to hold the breakfast each month on the third or fourth Saturday, depending on other parish activities. We are planning on alternating between Lincoln and Jefferson each month. February is Lincoln, March is Jefferson, etc. All students at the school and their families are invited to attend, and we provide flyers to the school to go home with the students and request an RSVP to make sure we have enough food and goodies to go around. The hope is that by inviting all of the students we will reach those who are on free and reduced lunch programs, and those who probably should be, but aren’t. This is a pilot program for the first few months, and we are hoping it will be sustainable.
